Ocean City
By Tracey Sheldon
Childhood memories of you and me, throwing sand, building dreams
Growing up together, memories on my mind forever
Carmel popcorn, Thrasers fries, boardwalk, lifeguards…summer has arrived
Here we are at our favorite place, back again to make our own way
Smell the sea breeze salty air, see the tourists without a care
Hear the waves thundering roar, feel the energy of the night
Touch your soul, hold it tight
Hold on to these pieces of time, keep the love affair of our ocean alive
For it will visit you again and again, and pull you back to her to comfort an
old friend.
Don’t forget these times we’ve shared at the beach
There will always be a little boy and girl running in the sand
Keeping those dreams within reach
